Make Today Amazing

Hello there,  hope you're having a lovely day.

Here's today's card, made using the Sunnie Stamp from Daisy B.  It's a lovely large stamp that is easy to colour.

This time I used my Inktense I'm blocks to colour her, but could easily have used pencils or pens.

Stamped in Versafine Clare, the stamp is a lovely bold outline that could also be paper pieced.  How would you colour her in?

Jewelled Lashes

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1zosd5L3bRgOHM6iTaBfLzZnAToz3UNlB

Here we have Jewelled Lashes which is a stamp by Daisy B Stamps.

The card is 8”x8” so you can see how big the stamp is.

I stamped the main image in Grey Versafine and coloured using my Inktense blocks.  The sentiment is stamped in Versafine Clare.  I added jewels and decorated with Nuvo Drops and Glossy Accents.

Thanks for looking.

Chill with music

Lockdown can be a really stressful time - I like to chill out in my craft room with my inks and paints - some like to listen to music - why not do both?

Here’s my Chill card made using one of Picket Fence Studios Beautiful Girls stamp and the Chill sentiment from Sunshine Bee Designs.

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1LJsCHziFuJkgi-hJRHo9LUgOwzs0aIlR

I stamped the girl on a small piece of card using black onyx Versafine and coloured in with watercolours. I then fussy cut it out.

Using Distress Oxides I made 2 backgrounds, one in hickory smoke, the other in the denim blue.

To give the background depth, I second generation stamped an old music score stamp out of my stash randomly on the blue background using Smokey Grey Versafine, randomly.

I cut this layer to fit nicely inside the grey background and applied silver Gilding wax around the outside, then mounted onto a black layer.

Next glue the Beautiful Girl onto the bottom Left corner.

Stamp the Chill stamp using Black Versafine onto the blue background.

Attach all the layers together and add to an A5 card blank.

All done - hope you enjoy using these techniques.

Bye for now

Rings and borders

Happy Friday everyone, what a busy week! I hope you have enjoyed looking at all the cards in the new launch from Colourific.  In today’s card I have used stamps from the Beach Border and the A5 Rings stamp sets.

Here is what you will need:

Dark red square card base
Dark red card
White Stamping Card
A5 Rings Stamp Set
Beach Borders Stamp Set
Versamark
Gold Detail Embossing Powder
Gold Nuvo Drops
Onyx Black Versafine
Clear Embossing Powder
3D Foam Pads
Watercolour Pencils
Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink
Iridescent Glitter Glue

Here’s how to make the card:

  1. Firstly, stamp the star ring using Black Versafine and Clear Embossing Powder.
  2. Stamp and emboss the candle from the Rings set using the same ink and powder.
  3. Colour the candle and the stars using watercolour pencils.  When dry, lightly blend a little of the Squeezed Lemonade ink over the area where the flame is to give it a yellow glow.
  4. I then decorated the mat layers with the zigzag and dots border around the four sides of the dark red smaller square and the larger white square, crossing the lines at the corner.  For the borders I stamped with Versamark and Gold Detail Embossing Powder.
  5. On a separate piece of card, I stamped 4 baubles in Versamark and gold embossed them.  I coloured these in with watercolour pencils.
  6. Cut out the ring leaving a 4 mm border and fussy cut the four baubles.
  7. Mount the ring in the middle of the red square using 3D foam pads.
  8. Mount the red square onto the white square and the white square into the red card base using glue or double sided tape.
  9. Finally fix the 4 baubles on the four corners of the white square using 3D Foam pads, add a gold Nuvo drop to the corners of the red square and add a touch of glitter glue to the baubles and candle flame.
Watch out for tomorrow’s card!

Deer in a snow globe

Hi everyone, Maria here with another idea for a card using the Winter Wonderland stamp set from Colourific.
Here's what you will need:

A5 Winter Wonderland stamp set
1 sheet red card
1 sheet stamping card
Silver mirror card
Snow globe and circle cutting die
Versafine Onyx Black
Clear Glitter Glue
Water colour paints
Gold Gilding Wax
Paper mask or liquid masking fluid
Water colour paints

Here's How I made it:
1. Die cut 3 Snow Globes in Dark Red card and one in stamping card
2. Die cut 1 circle in the middle of one of the red globes and one in white stamping card.
3. Stamp the image of the reindeer in the centre of the white stamping card circle and mask the reindeer.
4. Watercolour the blue sky, then remove the mask and paint the reindeer.
5. On a separate piece of stamping card, stamp a few of the medium and small Christmas Trees, water colour them in and fussy cut them out.
6. Glue the trees onto the circle and draw in some snow hills using the clear Glitter Glue.  Add some glitter to the trees and dot the sky to give snow.
7. Once dry, stick this circle to one of the red complete snow globes.
8. Add mirror card behind the base of the globe with the cut out circle, then apply the gold Gilding Wax to almost cover the red card.
9. Glue this frame onto the top of the globe with the topper on.
10. On the third snow globe, make a fold 1 cm from the top of the globe and attach this base to the decorated globe by gluing the 1cm at the top of the globe.  This will enable the globe to stand up like a card.

That's it, all done

A Nod to Andy

Hello everybody, it's Maria here and for today's post I have been influenced by the style of Andy Warhol in making a picture made from the Campervan stamp set from Colourific.

To make this 8x8" picture you will need:
Colourific Campervan Stamp set
Stamping white card
Masking paper or fluid
Clear Embossing Powder
Coloured ink pads
(I used Spectrum Noir Harmony ink pads in Lemon Tonic, Ocean Blue, Grasshopper and Fushia)
Versa Fine Onyx ink pad
Silver gel pen
Paintbrush
Brayer and Gelli plate or just blend the colour with a blending brush or sponge
Double sided tape.

Here is how I made it:
  1. Firstly cut four pieces of stamping card cut to 4" x 4" and stamp the Campervan image in the centre of each of the cards.
  2. Emboss these with clear embossing powder.
  3. Mask off the windscreen and the lights with masking paper or masking fluid and let it dry.
  4. Colour each of the full cards with the inks. (I used a brayer and Gelli plate)
  5. If you want to add texture to the inks, add a splash of water and dry with heat gun.
  6. Take off the masking paper or rub off the gum and colour with the inks in a corresponding colour.
  7. Using a paint brush add more of the same colour to the flowers of the campervan to make them stand out more.
  8. Once dry, attach double sided tape to the back of each of the cards and stick them to a piece of 8" x 8" card.
  9. Frame - I bought this one for a pound in the Poundshop.
There you go, all done.  This makes a great picture for a teenagers bedroom wall, or wherever you want really.

Bye for now

Penguin Agenda 2

Hi everybody

Here is the second card for today, using the Penguin Palace Penguin Agenda stamp set which is one of the new stamps from The Little Paper Tree.  Use my new code for 10% discount at the checkout
                             *******                       mariapapertree                        ********

To make this card this is what you will need:

White Card cut to size A6
White stamping card
Clear embossing powder
Alcohol Inks
Circle die cuts in two different sizes to mat and layer
Pink glitter card
Happy Birthday stamp from my stash
3D foam pads
Clear glitter glue

How I did it
  1. I chose the Party Dress coloured ink pad out of the Catherine Pooler minis ink set and blended the top and the bottom of the card blank.  I made the colour more intense on the outside of the card and blending into nothing.
  2. I cut a circle with one of my die cuts in my stash onto white stamping card and stamped the penguin wearing the party hat in the middle of the circle in black versafine and embossed in clear embossing ink to give it a shine.
  3. Colour the image in using alcohol pens and don't forget to ground the penguin by colouring in a patch under his feet - now he doesn't look like he is floating.
  4. Using the Party Dress ink, blend around the outside of the circle to frame the penguin.
  5. Cut out a larger circle in a pink glitter card and mount the penguin circle onto this using 3D foam pads.
  6. Attach this to the top half of the card blank leaving space underneath where you can stamp your sentiment - use black versafine and emboss this with your embossing powder.
  7. Then choose four different penguins from the set and stamp and emboss onto  a separate piece of white stamping card.
  8. I used my alcohol pens to colour in the images, then cut out leaving a small white border.
  9. Attach the four penguins in a line on the bottom of the card.
  10. To finish off the card, I added a highlights to the hat, balloons, presents and camera using a clear glitter glue.
Watch out for the next one - coming soon.

Part of the Pack

Part of the Pack

Here is my Part of the Pack card that was made using the Part of the Pack stamps by Picket Fence Studios.  This stamp is packed full of stamps - 8 in total and is very versatile.

I stamped the image onto 6" square piece of stamping card and coloured using Nuvo alcohol pens and highlighted areas with my coloured pencils.  I painted in some green grass using a green watercolour paint to ground the dogs.  I added the sentiment and drew a border around the card with a black fine liner adding crosses in the corners and three dots a little higher up on each line. I then mounted it up onto black and sparkle green card and adhered it onto an 8" square card.

Here is another one I made for a friend leaving work.  I added my own sentiment using alphabet letters and a border stamp from my stash and some green backing paper.

Hola Llama

Hola Llama,

Sometimes it’s just nice to say Hola I’ve given the Llama a lovely bright background - reminds me of holidays.

I used the Catherine Pooler minis to create this background, just by blending all the bright colours onto a piece of card and randomly stamping the Hola stamp from the No Problama stamp set and blended the orange colour around the outside.

The Llama was stamped in Versamark and embossed in clear embossing powders, I used Distress Oxides (Vintage  Photo and Fossilized Amber) I also stamped the little flower for her hair.

On a separate sheet of card I Stamped the Hola stamp 3 times and cut out. I went round the border of the rectangles in the same inks as the background and 3D mounted them onto the card. I finished the card by mounting onto a light blue background and adding a few gems.

All the items used can be bought from The Little Paper Tree, just follow the link, and don’t forget to use my discount code:  gail10 at the checkout.

Have fun
Hola!
